After plugging in multiple iSCUBE storage units
into the network, install the MyiGrid storage application
on a Windows PC, Workstation or Server to easily create and manage a virtual storage
pool. Run the storage management GUI to auto-discover the iSCUBEs
on the locally attached network and to provision storage via simple, drag-n-drop
operations.
For example, to create a Virtual Server, simply drag an iSCUBE
Physical Server object and drop it on the Storage Penguin icon on the tool bar.
Add more iSCUBEs to the storage pool simply by dragging
new Physical Servers on to the Virtual Server.
To provision iSCUBE dynamic volumes, drag one of
the color-coded volume type icons and drop it on the Virtual Server. You can then
follow similar drag-n-drop steps to create an iSCSI target, bind a target to client
and have volume(s) automatically show up in “My Computer” as ready-to-use, logical
drives.
MyiGrid provides additional capabilities such as
role-based administration, Wizard and CLI based storage provisioning, and other
business continuity features. It’s ease of use and iSCUBE’s
storage virtualization flexibility enables SMBs to scale their storage capacity,
availability, performance and business agility needs in an unconstrained, modular,
pay-as-you-grow fashion.
